7th ANIMAFILM Festival Announces the Competition Program

As in previous years, this year promises a captivating lineup of animated films from various countries, esteemed guests, and surprise non-competition screenings.

The 7th ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival will take place in Baku at the “Azerbaijan” cinema from October 2-6, 2024. The festival is organized by the Azerbaijan Animation Association with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The festival’s selection committee has announced the films included in this year’s competition program.

We proudly introduce this year’s selection committee members: Demetrios Poursanidis (Greece), Nitya Ramlogan (USA), Nazrin Aghamaliyeva, Elshan Jabrailzadeh, Masud Alisoy and Vafa Piriyeva (Azerbaijan).

The selected films will be evaluated by an international jury and the audience. The winners will be announced at the closing ceremony of the 7th ANIMAFILM Festival. The jury members will be revealed soon.

This year, the festival received 196 films from 37 countries, categorized into 2 international and 2 local sections. The selection committee evaluated all submissions and accepted 48 films from 18 countries for the competition. Among these, 12 films are in the local category and 36 in the international category.

You will have the opportunity to see works from both established professional animators and talented newcomers to the animation world.

The following awards will be presented to the winners:

• The international competition’s prize in the nomination “Best Short Animation Film – Grand Prix”
• The international competition’s prize in the nomination “Best Short Animated Film for Children”
• Local competition prize for “Best Azerbaijani Short Animated Film”
• Local competition prize for “Best Azerbaijani Student Short Animated Film”
• The Audience Award Prize
• Special Awards of Partners

Please note that the program and ticket sales for the 7th ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival will be announced in September.
