ARKA – Winners of the 2026 Competition for Film Projects to Be Produced with State Suppor

The 2026 Competition for Film Projects to Be Produced with State Support, organized by the Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ARKA) under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has concluded.

Based on the decision of the Expert Council for the Evaluation of the Content of Cinematographic, Audiovisual and Digital Works, operating under the Ministry of Culture, 18 out of 31 projects that participated in the pitching stage were selected to receive production support from the Agency.

The winning projects are:

Two Khagans (Feature Film) – Karvan Production
Seven Female Prisoners (Feature Film) – Buta Film
Hippopotamus (Feature Film) – Old Stone Film
A Good Day to Ride a Bicycle (Short Fiction Film) – Buta Film
Following the Silence (Docudrama) – OD-Media Production
The Turkic Tree of Life (Docudrama) – Nova Gorica Cinema Center
Murov (Documentary) – OD-Media Production
The Conqueror of Paris – Zelim Kotsoyev (Documentary) – Cultura Sevice
Monument to a Life (Documentary) – Cinema-ART
In My Own Home (Documentary) – Propoganda
Hero (Animation) – Marshal
Chanlibel (Animation) – Crombone
Izzy, Kitty and Novruz Holiday (Animation) – ANIMAFILM
Buds (Animation) – PR Agency
Daughter of the Sky (Animation) – PERI FILM
The Rabbit and the Wolf (Animation) – Lilitopia
Carpet (Animation) – Lilitopia
Memories in a Bottle (Animation) – Invico

A total of AZN 2,763,861 is planned to be allocated to the 18 winning projects, based on the established expenditure limits.

Once the final budgets have been approved within the submitted expenditure limits, the relevant agreements will be concluded between the parties in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Public Procurement.

In addition, based on the Expert Council’s decision, the following five projects have been granted the right to proceed directly to the pitching stage of next year’s Competition for Film Projects to Be Produced with State Support, following further development in cooperation with the Artistic Quality Control Commission:
