British Animation Shines at the 7th ANIMAFILM Festival in Baku

On February 15-16, 2025, as part of the 7th ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival, the event “7th ANIMAFILM Festival: From the UK with Love” took place at Nizami Cinema Center and Animation House in Baku.

The festival showcased BAFTA and OSCAR-winning films from the United Kingdom and hosted renowned British animation producer Aaron Wood, who led lectures on animation production, project development, and pitching.

The festival was attended by members of the Azerbaijan Animation Association, ANIMAFILM Festival directors Rashid Aghamaliyev and Nazrin Aghamaliyeva, festival project manager Aydan Kazimova, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Azerbaijan, Fergus Auld, the Country Director of the British Council Azerbaijan, Nargiz Hajiyeva, students and teachers from School No. 132 and STEAM Azerbaijan, as well as the general audience.

The festival was organized by PERI FILM LLC and the Azerbaijan Animation Association, with the support of the British Council. The festival’s media partners were Skwigly Animation Magazine, ADA Primary School and KYNO.
