On November 16, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a statute “On ensuring activities of Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.
AZERTAG reports that, according to the statute, the Agency will operate under the Ministry of Culture.
The Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan is a public-legal entity which supports the development of cinematography in the Republic of Azerbaijan, including local and international co-productions, organizing the promotion of cinema culture, stimulating the activities of cinematographic enterprises and film industry participants, as well as manages and supervises the activities of cinematographic enterprises under the Ministry of Culture stimulating the application of new information and communication technologies and innovations in cinematography, is a public legal entity that operates in the fields of integration of Azerbaijani cinematography into world cinematography.
The management bodies of the Agency are the Supervisory Board and the General Director. The council comprises 3 (three) members, including the Chairperson and his two deputies. Members of the Council are appointed and dismissed by the Minister of Culture. The term of office of Council members is 4 years.
The amount of the statutory fund of the Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan is 100,000 (one hundred thousand) Azerbaijani manats.
