Upcoming film of ANIMAFILM Studio, “Unusual Fear,” has won the New Talents Caucasus Development Award from The Film Mentoring Programme of CinéDOC-Tbilisi. The award includes a cash prize of 3,000 GEL (approximately 2,000 AZN).
“Unusual Fear” tells the story of women who face a fear of sex. The film combines elements of documentary and animation and is based on interviews with women suffering from vaginismus.
The film’s crew includes director Nazrin Aghamaliyeva, producer Rashid Aghamaliyev, screenwriter Ismail Iman, and cinematographer Orkhan Abbasoff.
The initial development of the project took place at FAMU (Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague). Nazrin’s studies were made possible thanks to the scholarship provided by the Azerbaijan Cultural Society of Northern California, as well as the crowdfunding campaign on the Toxum.org platform.
The project has also received financial support from Ilgar Najaf (Buta Film) and technical support from Seymur Seyidbeyli and Ilham Akbarli (Ağıllı Nağıllar).
