The short animated film “Porridge Monster”, the first international animation project co-produced with Azerbaijan, has been selected for the “Tricks For Kids” competition section of the 33rd Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film, which will be held on May 5-10, 2026, and will be screened within the framework of the festival.
Created using stop-motion, clay, and 3D techniques, the film “Porridge Monster” is an emotional animated film about the complex emotions arising in a child during an argument between their parents at breakfast.
The director of the film is Polish director Izabela Plucińska, the screenwriter is Justyna Celeda, the art director is Karolina Gołębiowska, and the composer is Azer Hajiaskarli. The film was voiced by Maria Dąbrowska, Husniyya Murvatova, Maja Plucińska, and Firdovsi A. Nabiyev. Sound direction belongs to Nadir Mahmudov, editing to Piotr Krygiel, and title design to Rasul Hasan.
In the project, where Poland, Germany, and Azerbaijan act as producers, Paulina Ratajczak (“Las Sztuki Foundation”), Karsten Matern (“Wait a Second!”), and Rashid Aghamaliyev (“PERI FILM”) are represented as producers respectively.
The film was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, the FFA – Film Support Fund, the BKM – Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, ARKA – Film Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, “ANIMAFILM” Studio, and the “Pomerania Film” West Pomeranian Film Fund.
The film was also co-financed by the Marshal’s Office of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, the city of Koszalin, and the city of Szczecin.
The distributor of the project is Bear With Me Distribution, the strategic partner is Akademia Sztuki w Szczecinie.
