The animation series “Balash,” produced by the “Animacenter” private animation center, holds a special place in the modern national film industry. With more than 30 episodes already released, the main goal of this series is to provide children with useful information through interesting adventures and to explain the questions and problems they encounter in daily life in a simple, entertaining, and humorous language.
The screenwriter of the project is Reyhan Yusifgizi, the director and animator is Sultan Abbasbayli, the 3D modeler is Simran Agayev, and the sound director is Mehman Nadirov. Through the characters voiced by Rahim Rahimov, Gulnara Zulalova, and Jamila Allahverdiyeva, both national and modern values, our history, and new technologies are instilled in the child audience. At the center of the series stands the protagonist, Balash—who is inquisitive, kind, and somewhat naive—and his friends. Among the characters, the well-read and knowledgeable Teymur, the spirited and quick-witted Zumrud, and the lazy and funny “Uzun and Kok” (Tall and Fat) duo, who add color to the events, have gained particular popularity. Children’s countless questions are answered simply through the voices of Balash’s grandfather and grandmother in the series.
Currently broadcast on the “Arb Gunesh” channel as well as on the YouTube platform, the “Balash” series has generated great interest among local viewers, proving once again the high demand for such educational projects.
