

At the awards ceremony of the Astana Eco Film Festival, held as part of the international exhibition RES 2026 EXPO (Regional Ecological Summit) in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, the animated film “Earth and Moon” was named the winner in the category “Best Eco Short Film”.
The film was a winner of the 2025 Film Support Competition for projects in post-production, organized by the Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ARKA), operating under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The project was produced by Uzbekistan’s DIP Animation studio and Azerbaijan’s PERI FILM studio, with additional support from ANIMAFILM Studio.
The film is directed by Pavel Kim, who also serves as the Uzbek producer, while the Azerbaijani producer is Rashid Aghamaliyev.
This project is the first international animated co-production realized between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
In the film’s storyline, Earth and the Moon are portrayed as two friends playing an eternal game. However, the emergence of humanity disrupts this harmony and transforms their relationship into a struggle for survival.
