Biography:
Ayan Novruz, born in St. Petersburg in 1998, spent her childhood growing up in Baku. She began her higher education journey by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in design at Khazar University in 2017. Later, in 2020, she transitioned to a bachelor’s in Animation at the London College of Communication under the University of the Arts London.
In 2023, her debut animated short, “Empty Spaces,” garnered some attention, winning two awards at the 6th ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival (Audience Choice Award, Best Azerbaijani Student Short Animated Film Award), earning a Directors Choice Award at the Thomas Edison Film Festival, and got to be a part for the official selection at the BFI Future Film Festival.
